German Style 100% Rye Genuine Sourdough

New Norcia Bakeries is proud to present our new German 100% Rye Sourdough Loaf.

Our German 100% Rye Sourdough is made in the centuries old tradition of Eastern European and Scandinavian dark breads without the use of commercial yeast.

This rich dense bread is made from only rye wholemeal flour and contains no wheat flour and is leavened with a 100% rye sourdough culture produced at our artisan bakery. The only other ingredients are iodised salt, filtered water and mandatory thiamin and folate.

The bread keeps well for up to a week at ambient temperature wrapped in plastic. It is magnificent served as an appetizer or entrée topped with smoked salmon and either crème fraiche or cream cheese. We also love it with blue cheese, rare roast beef and mustard mayonnaise or toasted and smeared with unsalted French butter.

Suggested retail price is $6.50 to $6.90 at leading food stores and bread shops. Also look for New Norcia Bakeries German Style100% rye sourdough at your favourite café.
