In 1886 the monks of New Norcia decided a new, wood-fired oven would better produce their daily bread. Today, this same oven is used by New Norcia Bakeries. Aside from imparting a distinctive flavour and texture to our products, it also provides our bakers with a constant measure of divine inspiration.
Here in New Norcia we make a range of yeasted breads daily, for consumption by the monks and visitors to the town.We also produce our acclaimed Nut cake, Pan Chocolatti and Almond Biscotti in the same venerable oven.
